What To Do If Your Podcast Isn’t Showing On Listening Apps

If one or more of  your podcast episodes aren’t showing up on all or specific listening apps, you can try the following to fix it:

1. Listening app requirements

Head to your “Show Settings” in CoHost. You can get here by either selecting “Distribution” in the menu on the left or selecting “Show Settings” under your podcast’s name near the top of your dashboard.

Once here, ensure that all relevant show settings are added in. This includes:

  • Show Title
  • Show Description
  • Show Artwork
  • Format
  • Timezone
  • Language
  • Owner Details

If you notice you’re missing information, first try adding the correct details and check back on the listening apps after a few hours and up to 72 hours.

2. Your first podcast episode

If you’re just launching your show, the first podcast episode that you release can take longer to populate on listening apps. Sometimes even a few days.

Because of this, we recommend always launching with a podcast trailer so the listening apps can recognize your RSS feed before releasing future episodes.

Check out our support articles for more information on distributing to listening apps and podcast trailers

3. Episode status is published

Within CoHost, you can either publish, schedule, or save an episode as a draft.

If an episode isn’t showing on listening apps and you’ve waited the appropriate amount of time, ensure that the episode’s status is published.

To do this, head to “Episodes” in the menu on the left. Here, you’ll see all of your podcast episodes, whether published, drafted, or scheduled. A green dot on the episode signals that it’s been published.

A grey dot would signal that it’s been drafted and an orange dot would signal it’s scheduled.

So if you do not have the green dot, your show is not published. You can also review the different categories by clicking the “Published”, “Scheduled”, and “Draft” tabs.

4. Reaching out for support

If you’ve checked all of the above and your episode is still not showing on listening apps, our team is here to help.

You can reach out to our support team by filling out a ticket here. We’re happy to help!

Additionally, you can reach out to the apps themselves since sometimes, they can give you the quickest answer. Here are some support lines:
