# How To Set Up Your Apple ID For Podcasts Connect
## To get your show on Apple Podcasts, you will need to have an Apple ID. For the best security, it’s best to have a separate Apple ID for your podcast, rather than using your personal one.
### **Set 1: Creating your new Apple ID:**
1. Head over to [https://appleid.apple.com/](https://appleid.apple.com/)
2. Click “Create Your Apple ID” in the top right corner
3. Follow the instructions. Pro Tip: [Create a Gmail for your podcast ](https://cohost.helpscoutdocs.com/article/70-why-you-should-create-a-google-email-for-your-podcast)and use that as the email associated with your show’s Apple ID
4. Once your Apple ID is created, activate it within iTunes
### **Step 2: Setting up your Apple ID for Podcasts Connect**
- For PC users: Download iTunes here if you do not have it installed: [https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT210384](https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT210384)
- Open iTunes
- Click “Account”
- Click “Sign In”
- Enter your new Apple ID information
- Walk through the steps provided
### **Ensuring your Apple ID is active**
- To make sure that your Apple ID is activated for your podcast, go to [https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/](https://podcastsconnect.apple.com/login?targetUrl=%2F&authResult=FAILED)
- Enter your Apple ID information into the login box
- The Apple Podcasts dashboard will prompt you with their agreement - follow the steps provided
