Changing the category or genre of your podcast within CoHost is simple! Let’s walk through the steps together:
Step 1: Go to Show Settings
Head to your dashboard’s homepage and select “Show Settings” under your podcast’s name.
Alternatively, you can head to “Distribution” in your menu and then select the “Show Settings” tab.
Step 2: Scroll to Categorization
When you’ve landed in show settings, you’ll see information about your podcast’s title and description.
Scroll down until you reach the section, “Categorization”.
Step 3: Update Your Podcast Categories
On CoHost, you can have up to three categories associated with your podcast. You have one primary (main) category which is the root category that your show falls under. For example, “Business”.
Your second and third categories live within your root category. For example, maybe they’re “Business > Entrepreneurship” and “Business > Investing”. They both have the root category of “Business” but get a bit more specific to your show.
Step 4: Submit Your Changes
Once you’re finished updating your podcast categories, scroll down to the bottom of the show settings page and press submit.
It may take a bit for all changes to reflect within the listening apps.
